FAQ's for Clients
All therapy sessions are conducted via a secure HIPAA compliant video service.
Here are some of the most common questions about therapy and the process of therapy:
How do I get started? The first step is to contact me by phone or text at (909) 224-9493 or by email lbaezlcsw@yahoo.com. I will call or text you back within 2 business days or sooner. At that time, we can schedule the free phone consultation to have a brief conversation about your therapy needs, explore questions, and determine if I am a good fit for you. I can also provide you with referrals to other providers if other services may be a better fit for you.
Individual 50-minute session is $175.
Do you accept insurance? I accept private pay for services, and I am an out of network provider for all insurances. I can provide you with a superbill, a record of your sessions and the amount you paid, to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance regarding reimbursement and how to submit claims. The best way to determine coverage is to contact your insurance benefits department. Under the law, you also have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” which is an estimate of the expected charges for health care services including mental health services. Please let me know if you would like a Good Faith Estimate. For more information about this right, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

How do you accept payment and when is payment due? Payments are accepted when the session is scheduled, and forms of payment include Zelle at (909) 224-9493 and/or Venmo @Lisa-Baez-4
What does EMDR certification mean? An EMDR certified therapist is a therapist that is licensed in their field, has completed the basic EMDR training, the required 20 additional hours of consultation, at least 50+ clinical sessions using EMDR, and at least 12 units of EMDR continuing education.
What does EMDR consultant-in-training mean? A consultant-in-training (CIT) is a certified EMDR therapist that is developing the skills to provide EMDR consultation to other EMDR trained clinicians who are working towards their EMDR certification requirements. A CIT is working towards becoming an approved EMDR consultant and being guided by an approved EMDR consultant.
Do you charge for cancellations? A 24 hours’ notice from your scheduled session time is needed to avoid cancellation charges. The cancellation fee and no-show fee is the full rate of your session. There will be a 10-minute grace period at the start of your session I will wait on the video platform as I understand things may happen to affect attendance. If I do not hear from you after 10 minutes, the session will be considered a no-show/late cancellation, and the cancellation fee will apply. Please send me a text message if you are going to be late to your session.
What if I need to pause therapy? Sometimes situations in life occur that impact consistency to therapy and you may need to pause or stop therapy. We will discuss the benefits of continuing and/or pausing depending on your circumstances and we can create a plan that is best for you and the stage of treatment you are in at the time.
